South West Kart Club

Cobden Racecourse

The South West Kart Club is based at the old Cobden Racecourse and was formed in August 1992 by local members who had previously raced at Geelong and Ballarat. At the first meeting a decision was made to build a first class bitumen track specifically for kart racing, with a plan drawn up for a circuit 966 metres in length and 8 metres in width.

Community Support

After a lot of hard work from members and the local community, which got right behind the project from the start, the track was finally ready for racing in March 1996. It has since had strong reviews for its plentiful passing positions, great layout, long straights, and ability to cater for large fields.

Club days are conducted on the last Sunday of every month. Members can race each other in a relaxed, friendly environment for trophies presented at the conclusion of the day’s racing.
